What each STAR box holds
STAR is a drafting tool, not the sent format. Situation is context and constraint. Task is the one delivery. Action is the choice you made. Result is a change someone can check. Collapse to one line: action + object + result.
Write four boxes on scrap paper. The upload keeps the result line. Empty “responsible for daily work” costs space, not points.
Keep three events in each of the last two roles. Older jobs become one title + dates line. Skills are tool names.

On-call, shifts, and repeated entry do not need four boxes. Write scope and reliability. Do not STAR the summary or hobbies. Certificates are a name and a year.
New grads write courses and clubs as roles: object and delivery still matter. One generic file for every job fails the same parse. Copy the draft, swap the posting’s words, export again.
How to fit one page
New-grad and sub-five-year histories prefer one page. Delete empty summaries, write skills as words, keep education to one line. Header: name, job title from the posting, city, phone, email, one link.
